Meet Honduras’ 2026 DAISY Award Winner: Norma

Norma’s patients have a lot of good things to say about her.
Patients, colleagues and trainees shared stories about the care she provides and the way she treats the people who come through the clinic.
Their stories helped illustrate why Norma was named OneWorld Health’s 2026 DAISY Award winner in Honduras.
One patient described Norma as “very kind and charismatic” and praised the way she treats patients. Another said she is kind and joyful whenever someone arrives at the clinic, taking time to talk with patients and show that she cares about them.
Other patients shared simple messages of gratitude.
One wrote, “The nurse treated me well. God bless her with more blessings.” Another thanked Norma for her kindness and wished her continued blessings as she carries on with her work.
There was also a nomination from someone who had the opportunity to learn from Norma.
“Thank you, Normita, for all your support,” the trainee wrote. “You taught me so much about how to treat a patient.”
That comment says a lot about the kind of impact Norma has.
Her patients notice the kindness she brings to their care. Her colleagues see it, too. And the people learning alongside her are taking those lessons with them as they care for patients themselves.
Across the stories shared, the details may be different, but the picture of Norma is consistent: a nurse who treats people well, takes time with her patients and brings warmth to her work.
We’re proud to recognize Norma as OneWorld Health’s 2026 DAISY Award winner in Honduras.
Congratulations, Norma!
