Miremba’s Life-Saving Care

When Miremba, a student at Kabalega College in Masindi, was brought to Masindi Kitara Medical Center by her classmates, she was in agony.
Her body was wracked with pain. She struggled to breathe.
Her friends feared the worst.
The medical team acted quickly, performing an ultrasound and urgent bloodwork. The diagnosis was critical—peritonitis caused by a gastric perforation, a life-threatening condition that needed immediate surgery.
Miremba was rushed into the operating theater, where the surgical team carefully examined her abdominal organs and patched the perforation. The surgery was successful, and she was transferred for post-operative care.
But her journey wasn’t over.
Three weeks later, Miremba required a second emergency surgery to reinforce the patch and ensure her recovery. Through every setback, the staff stood by her side, providing constant care, encouragement, and compassion.
Slowly, Miremba began to heal.
Day by day, her strength returned.
"I had lost hope," Miremba said through tears as she prepared to go home. "I thought I was going to die, but because of your efforts, I survived and am happily going home. May God bless you all."
Her story is one of courage, perseverance, and the power of a team that refused to give up.
At Masindi Kitara, Miremba found more than medical care—she found people who fought for her life when she no longer had the strength to fight for herself.
