Gratitude, Joy, and Perspective: Chloe’s Takeaway from Honduras

I took away so many lessons from this beautiful trip to Honduras, but the one that has stayed with me the most was also the simplest—the joy.
Everywhere we went, it radiated from the communities we served.
It was in the smiles of children, wide and bright despite the challenges they faced.
It was in the quiet gratitude of every patient who welcomed our help with open hearts.
It reminded me how easy it is to get caught up in the busyness of our own lives—rushing from one thing to the next, often overlooking the many blessings we have.
But in Honduras, I was surrounded by people who embraced each day with authenticity, gratitude, and intention.
They showed me that joy isn’t about having everything—it’s about appreciating what you do have, sharing it freely, and welcoming others with open arms.
Their joy was contagious. And it’s something I carry with me every day, a gentle reminder to walk through life with more openness, more thankfulness, and more heart.
